BAD CREDIT UNSECURED CREDIT
CARDS
While "standard" credit cards are unsecured, unsecured credit
cards are cards designed for people with poor credit history.
While people with really poor credit will be limited to prepaid
credit cards or secured credit cards, unsecured credit cards
are available to people with bad histories but that have shown
improvement. If you have been recently making your payments
on your cards (for at least 6 months), then you can likely
get an unsecured credit card. With unsecured credit cards,
you will suffer from a low credit limit (often $300 to $500),
but my paying your bill each month, this will rise. Unlike
standard or premium cards, these cards usually carry a high
interest rate, as you are considered a poor credit risk. However,
with your unsecured credit cards, you are building up good
credit, which will be helpful when you are ready for a premium
card.
Unsecured credit cards lack the glitz and glamour of platinum
cards, and don't have the benefits like airline mileage or
cash back that the premium cards carry. However, they are
genuine line of credit, that can be used to establish your
ability to pay off your debts. After you build your credit,
you can move on to better cards.
